Mobile phones?

A relative (distant) has passed this morning. The cause was a brain tumor caused by....mobile phone useage. 47 years old. Doctors have said that there is recently (in the past few years) a spike in brain tumors attributed to cellular phone use. Particularily in men, but also a rise in women too. So this puts damage starting about 15 years ago, resulting in an early death. So, parents who have bought mobile phones for their kids (some as young as 11) are you going to continue to risk a life expectancy of 30 for your children?

Personally I hate the infernal things, and it would be a cold day in hell before I ever bought one for my kid.

Mobile phones?
I completely agree. I absolutely hate seeing young kids using mobile phones, because I've always been suspicious about what damage having a phone so close to the brain must be doing.

As much as I hate seeing kids with their own phones, I detest even more seeing people holding a mobile phone close to a baby or toddler to allow them to "talk" to someone - their little bodies are still developing.

Im sorry about the death of your relative - but maybe some good can come of tragic circumstances if only more people became more aware of the potential risks of using mobiles.
Reply:Mobile phones need to be only that. Not all the other flim flam

stuff.

I think that some have had the mobile surgically fixed to their ear.
Reply:i'm sorry to hear your news, and yes, maybe this is a warning to ALL the generations out there about mobile phone usage and the damaging effects in the long term! something to bear in mind for the parents...
Reply:My son's 9 year old daughter has a mobile. but she is only allowed to text from it and not speak into it. she knows too as my phone rang once and she gave it to me and told me she wasn't allowed to answer them.

i think that way is ok as a lot of parents nowadays give them to kids when they are out for safety reasons. and you can track a lost kid nowadays by their mobile phone.
Reply:There is no evidence of harm being caused, just a lot of speculation such as yours
Reply:There is no scientific evidence to support the accusation that mobile phones cause cancer. Studies have been done worldwide and they have been found to have been inconclusive. ie no result one way or the other.

Mobile internet - UK?

I asked a question about broadband earlier and a few people mentioned mobile internet, which I'm not familiar with.

How does it work?

Does anyone have it?

Would you recommend it?

Pros %26amp; Cons?

I live in the outskirts of my town... would there be reception problems if I'm not near town centre?

My mobile phone provider is Vodafone, but I'm guessing I can get it from any provider, is that right?

Mobile internet - UK?
Mobile broadband is the next generation of data on the move. The networks have upgraded their infrastructure to allow a larger amount of data to be sent through "mobile phone signal".

This increased capacity has allowed them to provide broadband like speeds ANYWHERE.

They then made mini-USB modems that plug into your laptop/pc, that allow you to surf on the Internet wherever you get phone signal.

The mini modem has a sim card in it like your phone.

I have it on Vodafone and cant complain.

I would ONLY recommend it if you cant get broadband through a fixed line or need to browse the net/check emails on the move (with a laptop).

Benefits are portability and ease of use, but it is slower than normal broadband and speed varies with reception.

I would recommend visiting each network provider's website and checking your coverage at your postcode.

Yes you can get it on most networks; Orange, T-Mobile, Three and Vodafone.

I hope this helps, if you have any more questions just email us or visit our site.
Reply:The "3" network is decent, a friend of mine has it, it's not lightning fast, but it is stable. I assume it works like a landline service, except the Internet signal is sent through a mobile transmitter. Orange have brought a version out recently as well. It's only a matter of time before all the mobile companies have a version out.One drawback is that it is an expensive way of accessing the Internet, something like £15 per month for a download limit of 3Gib, with payments for anything over the 3Gib limit.
Reply:3G is good and fast , but there are some area s where theres no signal but on the whole very good

What's mobile to mobile minutes?

I'm getting a pay as you go phone and I just want to know what this mobile to mobile unlimited minutes mean. Don't you already pay for the minutes to have it prepaid? I don't get what's the point for that plan.

What's mobile to mobile minutes?
Mobile to mobile means anyone that has the same cell phone company can talk to you without using your minutes. If its At%26amp;t you can talk to anyone that used at%26amp;t. They will charge you one dollar a day for everyday you use the phone. You can buy additional packages for texting, I would recommend that if you text alot. You can buy like 1000 text for 10 dollars. On average you'll spend around 40 dollars a month.
Reply:Its when you call someone that has the same cell phone provider as you do. Sprint to Sprint. Cingular to Cingular. That type of thing.

Mobile broadband from T-mobile is it any good?

T-mobile has wireless broadband for laptops at £29 a month only.

Has anyone used it before is it reliable?

Mobile broadband from T-mobile is it any good?
i have it...its only £20.00. it is ok, not the fastest connection but good for the price. Definatley reccommend it.
Reply:i didnt even know they had that.. im goin to check it out, i'll tel u ltr....

I need mobile wireless service for my bus. laptop - What is the best for nationwide coverage?

I've looked at Sprint and a few others as well as satellite providers. It would seem that if satellite service mirrors that of satellite radio, I would have access anywhere - Is this true? Also heard that satellite is always connected so how does this work when I hook up to my intranet service when in the office? Are there mobile satellite providers or are these used only with the satellite dishes that are permanently installed at your home or office? One more question, I see services like sprint have a wireless mobile modem for "free" so is this consistent with all mobile services?

I need mobile wireless service for my bus. laptop - What is the best for nationwide coverage?
I personally would not recommend satellite internet. It is slightly more expensive and can fluctuate and terminate your internet connection at any time...especially in bad weather. Sprint offers probably good pricing...but Very bad coverage. They require roaming..and internet roaming is expensive and not good. I personally recommend Verizon Wireless because of their new release of Nationwide Anywhere Anytime Network. This means you can get cellular and PC Internet coverage anywhere within their coverage area...or any of their roaming partners coverage area free of charge...besides your basic monthly access. Also, all of their internet plans are for unlimited use. They also provide the best most reliable network. Also, when you are in a VCAST (broadband) coverage area, which is most of the country, you will notice extremely fast speeds...up 2 five times the speed of DSL. I am pretty sure you would be happy with it...but...they give you 30 days to try it risk free.

***oops, sorry, I just looked at our updates and stuff and noticed it said that the FCC has required a change. Now, the most internet browsing you can get is up to 5 gb. This amount is nearly impossible to use. So, practically, it is unlimited.

Mobile Phone - Photos?

I would like to put my mobile phone pictures onto my computer. My phone has pictures stored in a small black memory stick that i pull out, however my computer doesnt have any places available to put the stick into. It does have a USB port though. Mobile phone contract expiration?

heres the prob, i had a mobile phone with T-mobile on a 12month contract, after id had it for a year they called me and asked if i wanted to extend my contract, i agreed over the phone to a 18 month contract and the sent me a new phone

in august 2007 the contract ended and i threw away the phone (which had stopped working anyway) however theve jus sent me a threaterning letter saying there going to take me to court for not paying my line rental for the past 7 months!

surely they carnt do this? i agreed to a 18 month contract, i never asked for it to be extended and they never asked to extend it and the terms i agreed to was "the contract will run for 18 months", and why havent they bothered to talk to me about it they had my home details, youd think that they might have realised from the fact the phone hasnt been used in well over half a year that it had been disposed of

do i have any legal obligation to pay this or is it just corporate bullying/negligence?

Mobile phone contract expiration?
You do have to tell them when the contract is up that you are not re-newing and that you got rid of the phone so Just pay them what you owe but make it clear you will not be back with them they may cut you a deal. just so you end on good terms, weather you go back to them in the end or not.
Reply:Dude, it is still your responsibility to tell them that you're not renewing their contract with them. Even if the phone was not used - they never heard from you that you don't want to extend your contract with them.

Pay or settle the bills that you owe to t-mobile and tell them that you're done with them.

Mobile Phones?

Is it time that mobile phone suppliers stopped making it so easy to change phones thus creating a massive problem for future generations with all the poisoness batteries they are selling. Surely if they made phones to last and charged their true value instead of subsidising them we would not currently have enough phones for every person in the world to have six each. Imagine all those phone batteries in a landfill near you!

Tax mobiles I say, make it harder to keep changing and wasting!

Mobile phones?

I am on contract to T mobile, unfortunately the phone was stolen and I am having problems with the insurance. Can I buy any network mobile and have it changed to T Mobile? I want a Samsung D900 which T mobile do not do on pay as you gp

Mobile phones?
yes, you can get a replacement sim from t-mobile, then try this in your new samsung D900. if it doesn't work straight away, a lot of phone shops and stands offer an unlocking service for about £5 to allow it to work on any network, i.e. orange. The best option, is an O2 phone, they are generally unlocked. or buy from carphone warehouse, they usually have a stock of phones for all suppliers.

Reply:You should be able to provided you know a shop that can unlock phones.
Reply:look for the cheapest deal available on pay as you go, buy the phone and then get the phone unlocked. There are a lot of shops who would unlock phones very easily
Reply:You will either have to buy a sim free samsung D900 (which means it is also unbranded) or have the phone unlocked to accept any sim. Hope this helps
Reply:yes you can
Reply:you can unlock a D900 to work on any network except 3. the cost is £6.99 plus £10 refundable deposit.

Mobile Home Question?

We are going to be moving out in the country, and have looked at really, really nice and roomy trailers (mobile homes, whatever) at a mobile home manufacturer. We want to live in it while we build a house on the land, and then just have it for guests or maybe an elderly relative.

But I'm wondering about their safety. I would have a tornado cellar nearby, so that's not a problem, but I wonder about fires. I've heard they burn hotter and faster than houses and that mobile home manufacturers use a lot of chemicals in making them (what kind of chemicals?) I have small children, and later if we have an elderly relative live in it, I don't want the place to ignite easily. Can you put sprinkler systems in them? Does anyone NOT like mobile homes? Do they need a lot of repair? Do you know of any reputable manufacturers in Kansas? We'd put it on a slab rather than blocks--that's the plan anyway.

Is there anything MH manufacturers DON'T tell you? Are they build better nowadays?

Mobile Home Question?
The new manufactured homes are built much better than some stick homes. The one we have has hardi board siding (concrete composit) that is fire safe. It is also a good cents home and we save on heating and cooling by spending a few extra bucks. Some homes do have waterless sprinkler systems in them. Check out the mobile homes on the internet to find the best manufacture for your area. Just type in manufactured homes and you should get a list.

Hope this helps!
Reply:i know it only take seconds for a trailer to burn to the ground. I know absolutley nothing about the chemicals they use-sorry
Reply:Look a mobile home is just what it means. You use it then you send it away, unless you want to spend a lot of money on it that you will never get back.Fire will destroy anything and a trailer is an easy target. You have smoke detectors use them, and don't forget to check the battery at least twice a year. When you look at anything to buy beware!it's all about what it's made out of a lot of trailers have joist 16 on center and 2x4 studs or2x6 what do you want.trailers are not meant to last they have a life span and when it's up it's over.Small children are hard on trailers so get 1/2in drywall at least. You can get a lot of use out of a trailer.Chem.are in everything but less than before.Kansas is known for bad weather so don't forget to anchor your trailer, but don't trust it in a storm.Hope you find what you are looking for,Good luck.
Reply:Me and my family lived in a mobile home for most of our lives we never had a problem with it except we needed a new water heater after 10 years we never had a fire though we lived in Denver,Colorado so no tornados but I know if a tornado was to pick it up It's not really worth repairing. we didn't have sprinkler systems in ours. I'm sure they are built better nowadays.
Reply:My brother just purchased one to do the same thing that you and your family are doing and he loves his. He says that they are built better than they use to be, and you can customize them more than before. Tips on the fire thing...buy smoke detectors for each room, and make sure there are ways that you and your family can get out in a hurry if something were to happen. I don't see why it wouldn't be any safer than any home if it set up to regulation. Just do more research before you purchase to make yourself more at ease...and good luck finding what you are looking for.
Reply:As for the fires in mobile homes, many of the fires were due to the type of wiring that was once used. The government had stepped in and put fairly stiff regulations on the type of wiring used when manufacturing mobile homes.

But, that doesn't mean if a fire starts, from any reason, it won't spread quickly. So as the others mentioned, it would be wise to have working smoke detectors and also have several fire extinguishers place throughout the home. (which should be done with any home, mobile or not)

As for the chemicals, that comes from the type of wood they use which is usually pressboard plywood. That type of wood is also used in many regular homes.

T-Mobile Rip-off? 15 day Free Trial, took phone back after one day, charged me $41.00 should I pay?

I went to a T-Mobile store, I told the sales man, "I work in an area with bad cell receiption." He recomended i try a phone on there 15 day Free trail, If it didn't work for me, I could bring it back. So I tryed it, it didn't work in the area. I took it back the next day. 2 or 3 months later they sent me a bill for $41 telling me that I owe for connection fees.Skip ahead to today, I contacted T-Mobile by email, told them I feel I do Not owe for a free trail, and I wanted information about them, so I could file this claim in small claims court. T-Mobiles responce was It now in collections, take it up with collection company. The collection company agreed I shouldn't have to pay, but they have to keep trying to collect until I settle with T-Mobile. No one will give me my day in court. I'm looking for Suggestions. $41.00 isn't much money, most say pay it so it don't go on your credit report. I say $41 isn't Free, I work 5 hours for $40! If T-Mobile charged 100 free tails a/d=$4100 a day!

T-Mobile Rip-off? 15 day Free Trial, took phone back after one day, charged me $41.00 should I pay?
Consider contacting the Better Business Bureau and filing a complaint.

You can do this on-line at the following link, and it does not cost you even a penny.

https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/GetSta...

If you do not pay and does appear on your credit report, you can mail a dispute letter to the credit bureau.

Also, you may want to contact your local televison company, they often have a consumer advocate that will work for you.
Reply:Did you sign a contract? Alot of times, there are hidden charges in the contract. Nothing is ever completely free
Reply:Read what you sign.

I am willing to bet that the service itself was free however it was privvy to a one time activation fee.
Reply:I say T-Mobile needs to be responsible.

They are trying to give you the run around. Not sure of the best method in this situation. Sorry. I guess I'de probably just pay. But not without contacting T-Mobile a few more times.

Im sure you had to sign some kind of paperwork for that trial.

You might want to look at the fine print there may be some hidden fees you didnt realise were there before.
Reply:If you got it in writing then no bt if you took a salesman at his word then you have little to no choice but to pay it.

Never trust a salesman, they only want the sale. I should know, I used to sell many different things in my time. Insurance, furniture, cars and trucks, etc., etc.

Mobile SMS Alerts for Yahoo Plus Mail not working?

I've used the Yahoo Plus Mail mobile/sms alert feature for years now. Today, everything has come to a screeching halt. No SMS notifications whatsoever.

I'm using Cingular (Nokia 6230b, firmware v5.50) in California, SF Bay Area. No trouble with ordinary SMS messages, sending or receiving.

I've re-created my Filters %26gt; "forward message to my wireless device". No difference.

I've deleted and re-added my mobile device at http://sites.mobile.yahoo.com/wireless/m... No luck there, either. I get the confirmation email with PIN, but still no email notifications.

Going to http://alerts.yahoo.com/ and selecting "Mail" brings you to the new splashy Yahoo Mobile page. No help there.

No, I don't want to install some Java app to check/recheck mail. I want my SMS notifications.

so i take off my battery out from my mobile

so when i turn on back my mobile

my screen blank. just light only n didnt show any text msg.

please help me

Mobile screen blankl?
the code you typed in is used to restore factory settings. turn the unit off, give it a few minutes then turn it back on. let the software resume processing the reset feature, the screen will just be blank for a few minutes. wait about 10 mins and if the lcd is still blank then take it to the nearest service center. taking the battery out after you keyed in *#7370# probably damaged the software.

I was just wondering. Is there any free way of downloading mobile msn from my computer and then sending it to my phone?

843-XXX-XXXX.

But the second one confuses me.

It's called "Mobile Identification #"

and the number is another 843-XXX-XXXX one.

But the number isn't familiar.

Anyone know what this means?

And, also, there's something called a "NAM".

What might that be?

Thanks for the help :)

Mobile Identification # - what exactly is it?
The Mobile Identifaction Number or MID is what your phone uses to associate your phone with the network.

Mobile radio!?

I recently bought a new sony ericsson mobile k530i while on a holiday to visit my parents. Do u think the radio of the mobile will work in the UK when i go back in 2 weeks?

If i need to change any setting then how can i do that?

Mobile radio!?
Yeah it will 'cos it's FM radio and wherever you are and you turn the radio on, it will pick up the FM radio frequencies in your area, so it should work in UK.

....... I might be wrong :O

Using 3 mobile phone with skype?

i am looking at getting a new mobile 4 my daughter and i saw a 3 mobile with skype! i am wondering is she able to contact someone using skype on a pc using this phone?? the only reason i am asking is that she has a tendancy to phone family up alot on mobiles and as most of us have skype would this phone be a better option than one without skype???

Using 3 mobile phone with skype?
Using a 3 skype phone you can call any Skype user anywhere in the World for Free. A user can also contact a skype user on a pc if the user is logged in to skype. The skype would be a good option if the entire family is on skype. For more information about 3's Skype phone see the link below.
Reply:If it is a SKYPE mobile phone then she can contact other SKYPE users on computers for free, assuming she is in a Wi Fi Hot Spot that she can use for free, other wise it will not work.

Which T-Mobile Sidekick should I settle with??

I am looking to buy a new phone (preferably a T-Mobile Sidekick) but I have a few things I need to figure out.. Can someone help me, please??

(1.) I live in Australia -which is beautiful place %26amp; I never intend to leave- but they don't sell Sidekicks here, just "Hiptops" %26amp; "I-Mates".. Is there a huge difference 'cuz I checked out both the latter brands %26amp; they don't look as good or have the 'swivel screen' which the Sidekicks does..

(2.) If I get a T-Mobile Sidekick from USA, then which service should I get my phone connected to?? Will they support all the internet features such as IM??

(3.) I love the features of the Sidekick LX but Sidekick 3 looks hot too, so which one should I pick??

(4.) Money isn't any problem but heck, I'd like to know how much the phone costs before I buy one (in aust. currency - if it's not too much of a hassle)..

And finally

(5.) If I can't get a T-Mobile sidekick, then what phone would you recommend for me??

Please answer ASAP..

Cheers..

Which T-Mobile Sidekick should I settle with??
Why waste your money on a cell phone. Australia doesn't have cell service of any kind.
Reply:Hiptop is the original name for the Sidekick, and is still the software that runs on Sidekicks. "Sidekicks" are exclusive to T-Mobile, and will not work with any other provider, so don't buy a USA Sidekick. They can't be unlocked for use on other networks at all.

Mobile Phone weirdness?

I hope someone can explain this to me.

I am trying to call a mobile phone with the pre-fix 0450, from a phone on a PABX system (a work extention). When I dial the first 3 numbers (045) as soon as I hit the 5 I get the message on screen: Release and try again. When I dial this number from my mobile or from a public phone it connects okay.

Can anyone explain why this might be happening? I live in Australia if that makes any difference

Mobile Phone weirdness?
My guess is because your company's PBX is set to not allow calls to that prefix. do you have to dial an extra number before the 0450 prefix, in order to get an outside line?

Mobile broadband?

does anyone know of any dealers who offer mobile broadband 'unlimited usage'.

I hear mobile broadband limits you to around 100hrs a month. Although thats ALOT i fear i use it more, however my buget is no more than £20 a month.

any ideas?

Mobile broadband?
Go for Three mobie broadband. I bought my USB modem today, on monthly contract (18 months) for only £7.50 for 3 gb, because I am 3 mobile customer. Normal price is £15. 3gb is OK, about 10 mb per day.
Reply:Well because it is still a new product i don't think that any companies offer this yet (but i wish they did, i could do with it 2).

I'm with 3 and have 7 or 8 gig can't remember, but that is 25.00 per month...the service is ok...slower that phone line but better in other respects and the download speed is quite slow too!!

Well, this is a good question, I have to admit. It really does depend on what you are looking for in a phone, etc. So, rather than make a one-sided suggestion, I would like to steer you to another website - two of them actually.

Mobile home park?

ok your told you have to move your home where it has been sitting since you moved in but now after two years they tell you ,you have thirty days to move your mobile home from a trailer park when you start checking things out you have no axels or tires and you don't even have the trailer hitch on yor trailer the owner took them off when they set the trailer up on the lot i just heard that they couldn't sell the trailers as mobile homes as they permantly set them up they can't sell them as mobile as they are not mobile .is this true.

Mobile home park?
That sounds a bit odd to me that someone would make such a request, you might want to consult with an attorney.
Reply:The wheels, axles and hitch are removed so that it can be financed. Lender wants to feel it is not going somewhere in the middle of the night. Why are you being asked to move? Usually it is because you fell behind in the park rent or are a felon.
Reply:Contact your secretary of states office, motor vehicle division, and ask these questions.

now dial that no. in that mobile by dialing that number, you can see stored name is dialing

but now you dial with any two digit attach with original last 8 digit (say **cdefghij)

you can see stored name. is dialing on mobile screen.

What is the reason behind this?

Isn’t mobile manufacturarers care first two digit.? Where as all digits of a mobile numbers are important for us.

Mobile users of India face lot of problems! But no dynamic Org. Why?

Actually we don't have any parellel checking system for post-paid/pre-paid mobile users as in this modern day!!

Whatever the mobile companies claim, we should shut out mouth and pay it off!

And being a pre-paid customer, before and all we used to see on our mobile display our outgoing timings and the successive billing amount immediately on screen.

But, now they find out a new way to postpone the displaying of amount in their convenient time, not immediately on the spot!

This is a kind of trick, i think to extract more amount from the mobile users, without giving any clue to them!!

SUPPOSE WE GO TO A HOTEL REGULARLY AND THE BILL FOR THE CURRENT DAY IS NOT REVEALED ON THE SPOT, BUT DISPLAYED LASTLY BY THE END OF THE MONTH. THEN, CAN WE BE IN A POSITION TO CHECK THE VALIDITY AND NOBILITY OF SUCH BILL?

Even though you and I write a note and keep in to our pocket, the judiciary would only support the computerised damn stuff only- is it not?

Understood...Pre-paid customers?

T-mobile unlock codes?

I have a T-mobile Razr and I want to unlock it to use my Cingular SIM card. I have the IMEI code for the Razr, but I need to get the Unlock code. I am not a T-mobile customer and I got the phone from a friends friend. T-mobile said they couldnt give him the code since he is no longer a customer and it's for a T-mobile specific phone. Is there a program that will tell me my unlock code...or a "universal" T-mobile code?

T-mobile unlock codes?
No you cannot unlock it yourself. You will have to take it to the cell provider and most will do it with no problem. It is legal and they cannot deny you that right.

Which mobile's r known as GSM Mobile's ?

which mobile's r known as GSM Mobile's ?

what is diff between simple mobiles and Gsm Mobiles

Which mobile's r known as GSM Mobile's ?
GSM mobile phones are actually the simple ones. GSM phones are those which are text messaging enabled phones.

GSM (Global System for Mobile communications).

GSM uses narrowband TDMA, which allows eight simultaneous calls on the same radio frequency.

GSM was first introduced in 1991. As of the end of 1997, GSM service was available in more than 100 countries and has become the de facto standard in Europe and Asia.

Simple mobile phones are the old versions of mobile phones which are mainly used for calls, no added features like text messaging, video messaging, etc. etc.

There's also what we call Symbian phones, which have the capability of having applications and works like computer.

Well, that is all I can share for now...
Reply:here in the US, the two major users of GSM is Cingular/AT %26amp; T and T-Mobile. US Cell, Verizon, Sprint use CDMA. Nextel uses i-Den.

the difference comes from the frequency and computer technology used. which is why unlocked gsm cannot be used by a cdma company and vice versa.

on a side note...on cdma networks you can get an echo effect and on gsm you can get a digitized sound effect which is also due to the tech used.

Why t-mobile charges you for calling Toll-free numbers(800, 866 etc.)?

I have just bought a new t-mobile number and I have been charged for calling toll free numbers from my mobile. Could someone explain why t-mobile charges for calling toll free numbers.

Why t-mobile charges you for calling Toll-free numbers(800, 866 etc.)?
you're paying for the use of the satellite network
Reply:You should not be charged for dialing a toll free number with T-Mobile or any other carrier.

If you are making the call during the peak times then you will be using your anytime minutes.

Look on line at your mytmobile account and if you do see that you are being charged money for the toll free number, get the time and date of the call and call customer care. They will adjust the cost.
Reply:It's NOT only t-mobile my friend. All companies charge you for that!

The perfect mobile/cell phone?

i am looking for a mobile/cell phone that is Wifi compatiable and i plan to use it similar to how i use my PC, mainly browsing numerous webpages and 2/3 msn conversations happening at once. i also have really chubby fingers and the nokia E61i looked good because of the spacing, but im not sure of its ability and use of numerous browsing and msn windows. does anybody know a good phone for alternating between 2 webpages and 2 msn conversations at once that is preferably a QWERTY keyboard?

is a windows mobile more capable of handling this sort of thing? im only asking because i'd assume that a windows mobile has a interface to a windows PC.

any advice would be appreciated

Mobile phones and brain tumours?

Hi, is it true being on your mobile phone for a long time or sleeping next to your phone causes brain tumours? Sometimes im on my mobile for a few hours at a time at night, and sometimes I get headaches.. is this normal?

thanks

Mobile phones and brain tumours?
Of course talking on Mobile Phones for so long times are not ok and they jut damage brain so hard , i strongly suggest you to don't talk on Mobile Phone for long time because it might be so dangerous for you and your health .
Reply:im not sure if its true some have told me that it is and others say its just all in your head. I used to be one of those people who thought it was just stupid but im beginning to change my mind cuz i have got now when i stick my phone in my pocket for a little bit my leg starts to hurt and i will take it out and it will still be hurting for a little bit but it will eventually stop but also i noticed when i lay my finger on my keypad on my Razr that it almost feels like i can feel radiation coming thru it its like this little tingly feeling in my fingers its weird. But im beginning to think that it can possibly give u one. so i suggest u be cautious about leaving close to ur head for a long period of time if someone is talking to you for that long just tell them that you need to take a break and that you will call them back. hope this answers ur question.
Reply:A lot of research has been done on this and no significant risk has been found. The advice is for young people/children to not spend much time on the phone. However a few hours/day is a lot. The recommendation is to use a headset rather than holding the phone to your ear

Verizon Wireless question t-mobile?

Alright so I have T-Mobile and my girlfriend convinced to me switch to verizon. I only got T-Mobile cause i wanted a sidekick pretty bad. Now im just tired of having it. It breaks easily :-/. I text a lot. Anyway, I'm thinking about getting the LG Voyager since I text a lot. Think it would be a good idea to cancel my T-Mobile plan and switch to verizon cause She tells me they have better coverage around our area which is Cleveland,OH. I was just wondering if any of yall thought it'd be a good idea to get rid of the T-Mobile **** and head over to Verizon? Any comments are welcome. Thanks.

lg voyager is a best selection from verizon. since you text a lot go for unlimited text plan for $20. thats also for pix.

Well i know my mobile have a virus.i knw when i connect my moble to othere mobile it start sendind some thing?
You don't know. The Sony Ericsson K550i is not a Symbian phone - it uses a proprietary operating system. There are no viruses for it - or anti-virus programs, for that matter. Both are impossible to write for it. So, your phone is definitely not infected. The problem must be caused by something else.

Mobile phones? is it a needy or hindrance?

i am seeing in daily newspapers, Televisions so many countless advertisements.. '' unlimited free SMS.'' '' free calls at night '' free calls within the state, free calls if you buy life.. Initially, i thought it is a boon, since if we took our cell whereever we go, one can get touch with us. The family also know our movements. If any untoward happens, immediately we can inform or call for help. so many good things are there. But, now a days it is to be discussed whether is it for needy or it is hindrance. our boys and girls are always on mobile phones forgetting studies and their future. Attracting advertisements..besides you can hear FM, even worst camera cell.. Team members, please don't mistake me.. answer me honestly.. the mobile phone are really needy ones or now a days it is hindrance to us, spoiling the future generations.. please answer.

Mobile phones? is it a needy or hindrance?
Yes no doubt it is a distraction and i think that cell phones need to be controlled by a parental phone were parents can set limits for children.

Mobile phone?

I'm a 17 year old male and my mum is overprotective, really. She rarely lets me go anywhere and I said I shpuld have a mobile phone as it'll make it easier and she'll worry less, but she says I'm to young for one! She says I'll get one when I go into university(wtf).

She treats a mobile phone like a house or something!

Am I being reasonable? What can I do to convince her that I am old enough?

Mobile phone?
Get a job and pay for it yourself.
Reply:are you old enough to pay for it yourself?
Reply:i know kids who are 10 and have phones. Soon, she can't tell you NOT to. haha
Reply:Answer: offer to pay for it. And anyway, if you get a plan, the phone itself is normally free.

Do you lose a lot of things? If so that's probably her root concern. Work out WHY she treats it with such reverence, and convince her not to. GET TO THE ROOT.
Reply:Offer to pay for it yourself. If she would let you go on a familyshare type plan, you could chip in $10/month. Paying for it yourself shows how much it means to you.

If she's paranoid, offer to let her inspect your phone whenever she wants, to see what texts you've been sending or whatever (I know that's very 'big brother', but maybe it will pacify her).

Can anyone recommend a mobile to attach to a Pack and Play?

I'm looking for a mobile that 1) moves and plays music, 2) goes for a VERY long time and/or has a remote to reactivate it when it stops, and MOST IMPORTANTLY 3) will attach to a Graco Pack and Play?

I've looked at a million mobiles online and really like both the Fisher Price ones and the Tiny Love ones, but they all look like they only attach in between the slats of a crib. Do they make mobiles that attach to Pack and Plays without buying the package together up front (we obviously didn't buy a Pack and Play that came with a mobile with it).

Thanks in advance for anyone's help!!!!!!!

Can anyone recommend a mobile to attach to a Pack and Play?
I'm not certain about a mobile, but Fisher Price has things that attach to the inside of the crib or pack-n-play that have lights, music and general stuff to distract an infant. The one my friend has looks like an aquarium with fish that float by ....I think it might also have a mirror. It attaches on the side of the crib instead of hanging over it and her baby absolutely loves it!
Reply:I would suggest going to Graco.com and seeing if you can get a replacement part mobile. OR you can possibly cut a whole in your pack n play to insert the mobile like in an actual crib. You might also want to type in "pack n play mobiles" on the internet search bar.
Reply:I don't have a good suggestion on what to get, but I will tell you that you're right about the Fisher-Price mobiles. We have one and it definitely needs to be mounted between the slats of a crib.

I wonder if you could go to the Graco website and order a mobile as if it were a replacement part? I do have a Pack%26amp;Play with a mobile, and it just clips to the side.

Due to some urgent need ,I had got my cash converted in to cheque by some one.Due to nonawreness i did not take any proff for the cash amount i paid to that person. Now the same person has put a false recovery suit on me in Delhi court saying that he has given me a loan of that amoutn and is using mobile conversation as an evidence of proff. He was also my previous employer's clinet and there might have been some mobile conversation in such a way that may be used as a conversation representing certain amount due to me.and me mentioning thati will pay them as soon as possible. Can Delhi court accept the case based on that ?

Mobile phone Talk as an evidence of proff in money recovery lawsuit?
Depending on the law in your country, however to get the right answer I would personally seek legal advise or try speaking with the person and come to some arrangements where you can settle this matter out of court, which will save both parties the legal fee's involved.

There is no harm in trying to work the matter out and see what happens from there, I wish you the best of luck.

Which t-mobile phone is better?

t-mobile Wing

t-mobile Dash

t-mobile Shadow

price doesn't matter... and umm.... I'll probably use the phone for web browsing most of the time....

Which t-mobile phone is better?
If your gonna be using the internet then switch to a%26amp;T and get the At%26amp;T moto Q or BLACKjack 2. At%26amp;T uses a high speed data network called 3g. its really fast. If you get one of those 3 devices that you named and you stay with tmobile your internet is going to be really slow but if I had to choose tmobile i would go with the dash or the shadow.

Mobile Phone Insurance...Will my lost phone be blocked?

Right, my boyfriend has just lost his mobile phone. Unfortunately he doesn't have any insurence. However i do on my mobile. I insured the phone when i had an 02 sim card in it, i now have a different vodafone sim card in.

Therefore if i were to ring up my insurance and say i had lost my phone would they block my phone or just that old o2 sim card i had before?

I know i shouldn't do it!

But thanks for any help given :) x

Mobile Phone Insurance...Will my lost phone be blocked?
I think they block the phone itself. Then your number would be switched to the new phone.
Reply:it's insurance fraud. they would be sending him just the phone and not the sim card. try looking online like thru ebay or such and getting a phone for him.

T-Mobile to CIngular? Do i have to pay termination fee or can i file a case against t-mobile?

I am having a T-Mobile plan and with a contract of 2 year. Before taking the connection i checked the network in my area via t-mobile web-site. Its says Good. but here the network is very BAD. Its fluctuating beteen full network and no network.

I want to switch to Cingular.

Do i have to pay the temination fee or can i file a case aganist t-mobile, as the information provided in t-mobile web-site is wrong.

T-Mobile to CIngular? Do i have to pay termination fee or can i file a case against t-mobile?
Your best bet is to call T-Mobile EVERY time you have a reception problem. Keep this up for at least a few days. Finally, call them and ask to speak to a supervisor. Tell them that you're having horrible reception problems (it's now documented in their system that you've called several times) and that you need to figure out how to change it. They may offer you a new cell-phone in exchange for yours, as they may think it's a phone problem, not a network one. If you talk to a higher-up and say that the reception is horrible, you've called dozens of times with no resolution, they may waive the termination fee.

They will definitely charge you the termination fee if you call and tell them you want to switch to another carrier. You have to make it sound like it's their problem and you have no other choice. The documented calls to technical support will be your evidence.

Otherwise, contact a lawyer. They may send T-mobile a letter stating that the service level is not on par with the contract and that termination is needed since the contract cannot be fulfilled. That may end up costing you the same amount as a termination fee, though.
Reply:Yes u would have to. But just keep calling them a few days. Have them send a tech out to check the tower and if that dont work just talk to a manager and u should be able to get out of the contract I had that problem and I got out of mine for free.

If you had activated GPS tracking before the phone was stolen, you could have done it. But without the phone, there is no way to load the GPS software.

Mobile's for Emergency, did you know?

1st Emergency

112 is International dialling code for emergency services, can be used in any country.

More interestingly if your phone is outside of network coverage, using 112 your phone will search all networks to get you a signal!

2nd Locked your car keys in the Car?

If you have a spare set at home, call someone at home on THEIR MOBILE via you mobile

and Hold your phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock!

3rd Dead Battery???

when your battery is extremely low pres *3370# your mobile will restart and show a 50% increase in battery, this is an emergency store, and will get recharged next time you charge your phone!!!!

could be a lifesaver!

Mobile's for Emergency, did you know?
1: 112 is the European emergency number, it works alongside individual countries emergency numbers such as the UK's 999, on all phones (mobile and conventional phones). 112 will get you nowhere outside the EU, the US, Canada use 911. 999 is depracated as its too easy apparently for children playing with a phone to inadevertantly dial 999 (at least that was the excuse proferred by France %26amp; Germany when a pan European emergency number was proposed.

2) doubtful, not all cars operate on audible tomes... in fact most use radio waves

3) interesting......
Reply:kl i will try it
Reply:tried *3370# didn't work is that for UK phones?
Reply:1. Yeah, I knew that. But 999 works too...

2. Doesn't work with every type of car!

3. It's just not true - if batteries had 'emergency stores' they'd be public knowledge, or there's not much point in having them!
Reply:the code you gave *3370# this tries to access the network not the phone, why would manufacturers reduce battery life by 50% and not put this in the manual if its for emegencies. think your a little mad mate.....
Reply:1) 112 will work but you can't use other networks for emergency calls in the UK.

2) Not true, the phone can only transmit sound. Even if the remote used ultrasonic sound the phone speaker couldn't reproduce it.

3) Nonsense, in fact on some Nokia phones this is the code to switch to lower call quality.

T-mobile two year extension?

So I'm confused. I was looking for a phone that was cute, but wouldn't put a dent into my christmas shopping money. I went to the T-mobile website which advertised it for $50 with two year plan. I am already with T-mobile and I figured since I'm already with t-mobile all I need is the phone. Added to the cart to order it and it said it was $100, but I couldn't check it out because I didn't buy a plan.

Called the t-mobile store and the lady said it was $279 without service. My friend said I should only have to pay $100 with $50 mail in rebate because I am already a t-mobile customer and if the lady says otherwise I should try to bargain with her.

first question: how much should I pay for this cellphone?

second: can you bargain with cell-phone people to drive down prices?

T-mobile two year extension?
Okay first of all...i am going to give you a suggestion...when u call in to t-mobile ask them for prices....tell what u want and what u like...after they are done giving you prices...tell them a little fib like "well i have been shopping around really dont like the phones from other service providers and really there plans are not as good as yours....wink wink.....then there gonna try to sweet talk you into telling you the pros and cons...and if they insist in not lowering the price threaten to CANCEL....that will get them....i assure you you will end up getting a way better price than the one they gave you....or even that you will not have to wait for rebate they end up giving it to you right there and then...(if a rebate is offered for phone)....see as an ex CSR represenative for t-mobile we are trained to save our customers by any means possible even if it means giving them what they want and even more.....why do you think they have been named number one customer satisfaction by JD Powers and associate for 3 years now....threaten to cancel and you'll see the difference in there tone of voice or better yet ask for supervisor they give good prices too....good luck...one more thing just to let you know when they give you a real good deal that means a two year contract comes with it ....SUCKS i know but at least you get the phone you want...
Reply:Well all I know is that when you want to get a new phone from T-mobile. The price that is reduced on the phone is if you get a new contract or you extend it for 2 more years.

If you don't do neither you buy the phone at the regular price. You do not get a discount for being a T-mobile customer which really sucks.

You can't bargain the phone I don't think.

Good Luck!

Adjustable mobile?

I bought a mobile for my baby bed, but it doesnt fit. I dont have a standard size bed and the mobile is too small to snap on. Does anyone know if there are adjustable mobile's out there or if maybe you can buy an adjustable mobile arm? I really like my mobile and want it to work on my bed

Adjustable mobile?
I would measure the bit on the bed that you want to attach it to, sketch a pic of the bed/area it is to be attached to and take the mobile and pic/ measurements to your local hardware store. They are usually pretty good at coming up with solutions . . .

T-Mobile Sales Reps and T-Mobile Customers?

I am going to a T-Mobile store to get a new phone with a 2 year contract? Is there anything I should know to get a good deal on a phone and plan?

If your a sales man:

What are your secrets that customers don't know about?

What are T-Mobiles "loop holes"?

What should I mention to get the cheapest deal?

If your a customer:

What do you like best and worst about T-Mobile?

Do you recommend that I sign up?

What is your experience like with T-Mobile?

T-Mobile Sales Reps and T-Mobile Customers?
I worked for T-Mobile for several years and used the service while I was there so I guess that makes me a customer %26amp; salesperson :)

You get a lot of minutes for a good price and their customer service is pretty good BUT only if you have good coverage where you are.

PROs: lots of minutes, good customer svc

CONs: may not have good coverage where you are

That being said, to get the best deal tell the sales rep what phone you want and what plan you want. The sales rep's commission is based on your service plan, so let him figure out what he'll make and then he'll come back to you with the best price he can on the cost of the phone (which he can control).

T-Mobile doesn't really offer discounts on service because their service is relatively cheap to begin with.

BTW, tell them you won't do business with them unless they waive the activation fee. They may not be able to do it but if they can they will.

Good luck
Reply:Yeah they were some really good answers, I especially liked the one about independent dealers offering better deals.

I'm glad you found the info useful. I was wondering if it would help! Report It

Reply:I'm a T-mobile customer.

What do I like best and worst about T-mobile?

Well, they have great up to date phones with Mp3 and video capabilities. Also, it's national so just about anywhere you go you have service. The worst part for me is that I live near a heavily wooded army base. Sometimes when I get within a mile of the base my service is weak or non existent.

Do I recommend that you sign up?

Of course.

What is my experience like with T-mobile?

Great! I've been with them for 3 yrs now. unlike other carriers its not really difficult to start a contract account with them. They have wonderful customer service just like they say on the commercials. It's easy to upgrade with them as well. They work with you. I will warn you though, you might not get great reception in someplaces like Wal-Mart or Lowe's. Other than that, it's really good.
Reply:Bella, so many questions LOL lets give it a try

Do you recommend that I sign up?

Only If T-Mobile has good coverage in your area, if they do have good coverage, then they are a good choice with inexpensive plans and a nice choice of phones

What should I mention to get the cheapest deal?

To get the best deal on T-mobile, do NOT go to a T-Mobile corporate store. These are the stores that say T-Mobile on the outside of the building and only offer T-Mobile service. The sales people have limited flexability of offering you a deal.

Go to an independent T-Mobile dealer, they do not have to follow the same rules as to price as T-Mobile direct sales and will do anything they can do to get you to walkout of the store with a contract

Keep in mind, the savings will not be on the rate plan, it will be on the phones and accessorys. Good luck

Cheers

T-Mobile Wing VS T-Mobile Curve?

I am going to buy a new phone. I am interested in either the T-Mobile Wing or the T-Mobile Curve. I need a phone which is feature packed. The Wing has Microsoft Word and Powerpoint Viewer. The Blackberry Curve has a typing program but it very basic and I do not know if it has a support for Powerpoint presentation. The Wing also has Microsoft Excel and the Curve does not. There is a $50.00 difference between the two phones. E-Mail will not be a used feature. Which is better and why. The price does not matter.

T-Mobile Wing VS T-Mobile Curve?
Personally, I'll admit I don't know much about either phone. I've seen the commercials for the Curve, and I do know it looks very, very cool. Plus, it's a Blackberry, which always has tons of useful features. The Wing, as described, also sounds good. Either one is a smart purchase. I'd buy the cheaper one, but do some more research before making your final decision.

P.S. I WILL GIVE YOU THE TEN POINTS IF YOU SIGN UP FOR THE IPOD REFERRAL!!!
Reply:get the curve. its not as feature packed and cool as the wing.... but the wing freezes alot and doesnt call when u press the green call button, it waits like 1 second. so if ur repeatedly calling the same number trying to get through, its not for you
