Cheapest, fully functional "internet on mobile" handset in India?

Which is the cheapest fully functional "mobile internet" enabled handset in India offering a "good" web browsing experience and a good GSM service provider's scheme to activate internet on mobile. If possible, I want to avoid cameras, FM and MP3 player and other frills on my mobile and I am NOT looking at Reliance's or Tata Indicom's bundled offers.

I want "internet on mobile" just to check my mailboxes on GMail and Yahoo and for basic google search, online ticketing, etc .

PS: I am not referring to internet connectivity "through my cell on my laptop" i.e. I do not want my cell to act as a modem to browse internet on my laptop. I want internet connectivity on my cell itself, on the go! :D

Cheapest, fully functional "internet on mobile" handset in India?
I believe that you go for N91 8GB it has cool internet service and if you got wireless internet in your home then you could operate internet on mobile without sim card and you will have really cool gagdet. Mobile cost is Rs. 11,000... So go for it ..Man

Virgin mobile super slice?

i just got a virgin mobile super slice less than a week ago and its been working fine, but just now it totally froze up. i cant turn it off or anything. any ideas on wut i can do? (besides contacting virgin mobile cuz i already did that) thx!

Virgin mobile super slice?
hey I have the Super Slice as well. Mine freezes too, so does everybody else's Super Slice. There is a glitch in the Super Slice phones they are selling, and the main glitch is freezing. There used to be even more glitches before it was fixed by the manufacturer. Some people have the first version before it was fixed (the ones that were first released) Since you purchased your Super Slice less than a week ago, you have the newer version with fewer glitches. To fix the freezing in the newer version, the only known solution is to remove the battery, replace, and turn it back on. I know its a pain !!! But a lot of people have this same problem, including me.

-Good luck and hope this helps
Reply:take the battery out.

if that doesnt work then take it back to the store and get a different phone.

Cheapest Mobile Plan?

I have an ancient Nokia %26amp; need a mobile phone number.

I have just returned to Australia.

I need to send/receive emergency calls and SMS

No fancy contracts %26amp; just top up when I have to.

What's the CHEAPEST deal available in Australia?.

BTW I know nothing about mobiles as far as I am concerned they are noise pollution and the charges are a rip off!!!!

Cheapest Mobile Plan?
Why get one than??? Anyways the best thing to do if you dont already have a phone is to go to a free cell phone site and they give you a cell phone for signing up on the plan. The cheapest isnt always the best since coverage is much more limited with cheaper ones. However I'm not sure exactly how much your price limit is so I would say go to a site or two to find out which one fits your needs best. http://www.phonechoice.com.au/ This site has a built in calculator for the cheapest plans. and heres another where they actually sell you phones or phone plans based on your search input http://www.mobileselect.com.au/findModel... Good luck on your search!!!!!
Reply:if u want to save $$ on the phone and plan. check out www.5linx.net/lab--thus far this site offers u the "hardware" at LOW LOW prices.. they r a lifesaver compared to what you pay in the stores. just go to products and mobile phones..you'll be just as pleased as we were. Hope this helps!

T-Mobile I-Phone?

If I get a T-Mobile I-Phone. Does it come with Wi-Fi? If not how do I get the mobile Wi-Fi? How much?

T-Mobile I-Phone?
wi-fi is hardware on the phone, u dont have to pay anything extra for it. it either comes with the particular phone or doesnt, in your case, the iphone does have wi-fi. but you will need to hack and mod your iphone to be able to use it for tmobile, which im sure you already know
Reply:Wifi comes standard on the phone, what I think your talking about is EDGE, the wireless data network that you use when your out and about.

If your up for some work you can get it working. You have to modify a few files within the phone but you can get it completely working, well except visual voicemail since it is an ATT offered service only.

In fact you can use the WAP $5.99 internet service plan instead of the $19.99 data plan if you set your phone up correctly. Its not that hard, just takes a bit of reading on how to do it.

A great place to read up about the iphone and how to do stuff like this is

www.modmyifone.com basically everything I know about the phone I learned from here. They have a guide for almost anything. Great useful site.

Can mobile speed cameras be on riot (dark blue) vans?

I was driving and i looked to my left and i saw a riot van parked in a side street (the big dark blue one) parked facing towards me i was wondering if they had a mobile speed camera on?

or are the mobile speed cameras just on the typical speed camera cars you see the white vans that look like space cruisers with all the stickers on.

Can mobile speed cameras be on riot (dark blue) vans?
Hiya,

Mobile speed cams can be installed anywhere... actually, the best location is in vans and such.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that there is an accuracy debate and the fact that you will only receive the ticket after some time (which you will most likely forget if you were speeding due to a genuine reason), speed trap detectors are still ban in Singapore and in a number of countries so there's no real way of telling.

In UK, some states strongly believe in prevention is better than cure (or fine), thus the use of detectors are allowed.

T-Mobile Prepaid Cell Phone Gold Rewards Member?

So, I got a T-Mobile prepaid cell phone plan. I added a $100 phone card, which makes me a Gold Rewards Member.

http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/plans/defau...

So, does this mean my minutes last for one year? Plus, after my year is up, does adding the least amount available refill card ($10) let my minutes roll over for another year?

And my last question: once you are a Gold Rewards Member, do you stay so as long as you are in good standing in terms of refilling at least once a year in any amount?

T-Mobile Prepaid Cell Phone Gold Rewards Member?
Your minutes last for one year, yes. On the 364th day, if you add $10 more, ALL your minutes (including the ones you had left added to the ones you added) rolls over for one more year from the day that you added those minutes, and yes, once you are a Gold Rewards member, you remain a member for as long as you continue to keep your phone (I think they recycle the phone number 90 days after the minutes expire).

Hope that helps!

T-Mobile Text Message Help?

When I send a text message to a T-Mobile cell phone from T-Mobile's website - will my IP Adress from where I send the message, be displayed (or revealed) to the receiver when he/she gets the message?

Thank you for your help in advance.

T-Mobile Text Message Help?
no the IP address will not show...it's just like a normal text message your sending from your phone, but instead your sending it from the computer...so don't worry =]
Reply:If you sign into your t-mobile account and then send a text message from tmobile.com then i believe it will either show your number.

If you use a different website it will just show that it was sent from "The website name" but it will not say who sent it.

T-mobile flext tariff - what can i say to convince them to give me the deal they are advertising?

i went onto the t-mobile site and found that the tariff i am on (Flext 20) has gone down by 25% cheaper (as a perminant deal) but they havent changed this on my existing contract and i am still paying the full £20 per month instead of the new £15 per month.

I have just rang them and they said because i am an exsiting customer this deal wont come into effect until my current contract is over, which wont be until Aug this year :s

what the hell type of service is this!!?

what can i say to them, to convince them to give me this new deal???

i feel am entitled to it after all as its the same tarriff that i am currently on PLUS i have been a t-mobile customer for the past 7 years.. help please :)

T-mobile flext tariff - what can i say to convince them to give me the deal they are advertising?
Tell me about it.

I had a call to say that I was paying too much and my new paymet would be £15. My bill came, it was the usual £25.

They phoned me back and I complained and the caller said that they was nothing written on my notes with this offer.

I was told to put a complaint in writing and ey have phoned me once (which I missed) and have had no contact since.

I also wanted an upgrade which thye were offering from free - £299. I went on-line to upgrade and they wanted me to pay £319?? Apparently the offer is for new customers only!!

I've been with them for 9 years!!

My husband got the phone I wanted instead.

I would NEVER recommend T-Mobile to anyone!!

Phone them and give them hell!! Itold them that I would cancel my contract and then join them again and get all the new cheaper deals - the caller said nothing!!

Good luck :D
Reply:The fact you have been with them for 7 years implies you have been generally happy with the service you have been receiving.

If you were still on your original contract you could cancel and go with whoever you wanted to.

It would appear that you renewed your contract last August, maybe took a phone upgrade at the same time, you agreed to the contract terms at the time. The fact that someone could now come along and get a better is deal is not T-mobiles fault, or yours. They are using this as a marketing ploy to attract new customers.

Next time think carefully about what you are signing up to, and is it what you really want. Do you think you might want to break the contract!!!

On the other hand, if the price had gone up would you have expected them to come after you for extra money? and would you have paid?
Reply:You signed a contract. You expect them to keep their word, you have to keep to your part of the deal.

If you don't like that then don't sign agreements

Will T-Mobile upgrade the Dash with Windows Mobile 6 for free?

I recently purchased a T-Mobile Dash and there is a new version of Windows Mobile coming out and I was wondering was T-Mobile going to offer the new version as an upgrade for existing customers who have purchased the T-Mobile Dash.

Will T-Mobile upgrade the Dash with Windows Mobile 6 for free?
T-Mobile is currently working with the manufacturer (HTC) for an update that is Vista compatible, but no updates are available yet. For more info, log in to your account through http://www.t-mobile.com/mytmobile and look for the "Support for my phone" link after you log in. On of the titles on that page is "downloads" and there will be a link called "system upgrade" when the update is made available by HTC. Or you can just call tech care periodically (611 or 1-800-937-8997) to ask if it has been made available yet.
Reply:depends on store usualy no
Reply:ok there is already a leaked version of windows mobile 6:D...(if you want it...email me at ksallstar2013@yahoo.com or u can AIM me at kmskajlal33nba) i currently have it on my cingular 8125..quite impressing..BUT the official version is supposed to come out this month..it was said to go official by valentines day but guess not..and i do think upgrades will be provided..if not, i can get them so juss hit me up;)

Best value mobile/cell phone for reading e-mail on?

::::BRIEF::::

I'm looking for a mobile phone or device that will alert me whenever I receive an e-mail, however I don't want to be charged everytime I receive a text alert.

There is a mobile phone called the "XDA Orbit", which contains Windows Mobile 5.0. With that technology I can wirelessly read my e-mail via my mobile phone. However the phone costs about £250, I only want the phone for that reason....I won't be using it to make calls etc. I just want a device with "push technology" that will alert me when I receive an email, however that doesn't charge "per message", because otherwise it would work out expensive for me.

::::QUESTION::::

Is there either another device or another Windows Mobile 5.0 phone that has the same function, but is cheaper than the XDA Orbit?

Best value mobile/cell phone for reading e-mail on?
You might be better off with a Blackberry, rather than a Windows-based PDA phone. The main function of a Blackberry is to receive e-mails on your phone. I haven't used one myself, but I have a friend with one, and she swears by it.

However, if you're set on a PDA phone, there are cheaper models in the XDA range, or second hand models on eBay. I bought a second hand XDA Exec for under £120, and I don't know how I lived without it.

However, if all you really want is the wi-fi functionality, you might be better off with a simple wi-fi PDA. There are some really nice ones on the market, and they're generally cheaper than a smartphone.
Reply:If you don't want it to phone with, get a PDA.

A lot of them comes with a Windows OS on them and a wireless card built in. Using that , you can connect to the wireless Network and set a special tone to play when you get an email.

HTC is the mother manufacturer of the phones mostly, but PDAs can be done by many, Dell has a few models too.

I have problem with my new mobile so i will talk to somebady for nokia service maneger or any maneger?
get it done privately, if ure in love with the mobile. Personally, i think you need to ask for money-back if there are so many compant defects. Use your insurance with nokia. if it doesnt work, sell off the software. Thats what I did when Nokia refused to agree that there were production defects.

Internet Explorer Mobile Windows 5.0 support PNG transparent background image? Flash Video Streaming?

Hye all! I got some question here. My senario is i have to develop a mobile web site base on Windows Mobile 5.0 platform. However i need to dig more infomation related to Internet Explorer Mobile inside it. For a moment i doesnt have a hardware installed with Windows Mobile 5.0 but i have do a development phase first. So my question is that this Internet Explorer browser support to view PNG transparent background image? How about Flash plugin? what kind of version that default installed on that mobile browser? Is that Flash version support for flash video streaming either embeded/flv streamin?

Any url referer where i can dig more detail regard this browser?

Thanxs.

Internet Explorer Mobile Windows 5.0 support PNG transparent background image? Flash Video Streaming?
Not even IE6 supports transparent PNGs, but you can use http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bobosola/pn... (PNG fix) in your website for this. It's simple all you have to do is to put that pngfix.js in the root of your website and a link in the %26lt;head%26gt; : %26lt;script defer type="text/javascript" src="pngfix.js"%26gt;%26lt;/script%26gt;

Is there any mobile in reliance in which mobile to mobile conversation can be recorded?

Is there any mobile(hand set) in reliance in which mobile to mobile conversation can be recorded.and internet can be used through mobile only without computer,to send and recieve e-mails.

Is there any mobile in reliance in which mobile to mobile conversation can be recorded?
All high end Nokia, Sony and other phones have this function inbuilt. This facility is not operator dependent. If yours is a multimedia phone, approach any mobile dealer and ask for spy call, which enables you to record all voice conversation. You can also download spy call from www.killermobile.com.

Can I use mobile phone tracking anywhere in the world?

I've seen mobile phone tracking companies like http://www.mobilelocators.com but they seem to be only able to track mobiles in mainland Great Britain. Why is that? If I have set my mobile up to roam won't if be trackable abroad?

Can I use mobile phone tracking anywhere in the world?
The tracking companies rely on agreements with the local service providers to be able to provide the service. They would have to have agreements with every network operator in the world that uses compatible eqyuipment to be able to do what you are asking. Not all countries use compatible mobile systems. The laws/regulations may also prohibit it in some countries. In other words, too complicated.
Reply:Jonathan, just explore the websites of leading GPS providers, look in their FAQ, their reviews, u will definitely get the answer. for more info on this ,visit :

http://www.squidoo.com/gps-systems-101
Reply:The UK uses dual band phones. If you went to the US (for example) where they use tri-band phones it wouldn't work even if the service was available.
Reply:mobile phone is being trackable if the network service provider is associated with the tracking company.

She contacted the technical dep. and said that when the iPhone loses signal, it connects to Virgin Mobile's GPRS!! So what she is saying I can make calls via mobile GPRS? a few kbps can't connect a call... What should I say PLEASE HELP!!

T-mobile??

can i have a service plan without having to pay in monthly?

pay as i go?

my friend has a virgin mobile, it's a prepaid phone, and all they have to do is buy minutes, but they can choose and change their plan.

can i do that with my t-mobile?

T-mobile??
Well as a t-mobile/Sprint Dealer manager , if you are looking for "pre-paid" , t-mobile offers flexpay which is a a pre-pay/ No contract plan and you get to choose a monthly plan with a pre-set balance limit(so you never go over),but you always have to pre-pay the next month ahead.Theres more value to that than going with the card. For example on the t-mobile to go on a $50 card you get about 400min , on flexpay you get 39.99 for 600 min with free nights and free weekends , and you have a NO CONTRACT.Verizon isnt necessarily better , with all carriers one is always going to work better than the other, every carrier has strong and weak spots.Verizon though has a faster internet Connection than t-mobile.But t-mobile offers better packages(especially with my-faves/Actual national stats surveyed that you call the same 5 people 60-70%off the time).I would recommend the myfaves and with that myfaves you dont have to wait until 7pm to make all those calls to people you talk alot, you can call them anytime.Go to the nearest t-mobile store and ask them about flexpay, and have them do a coverage check. and if flexpay doesnt work out you can always convert to a pre-paid card plan and still keep the same number with t-mobile.

Other than that t-mobile usually offers a $100 pre-paid card for 1000 minutes that is good for 1 full year which no other pre-paid company can beat.THats if you still wanna go with the card.
Reply:One of my phones is a T-mobile that I just buy a pre-paid card for when I want more time. I have had it long enough that I am in the so called gold club and get 50% more minuits with each new card and any left over time from my old card carries over. Also, I only need to get another card once a year. Contact your vender and see what is available. They have "T" cards of different sizes at most gas stations, Krogers and the like.
Reply:you can get a phone from t mobile where you just buy more minutes when u need them but personally i would recomend verizion they have more bars but if you like t mobile then use them

T-mobile myfave ringtone?

I have the Nokia 6133 and recently got the myfave. Everybody on my phone have different ringtones or videos that i created and saved on my sim card. My problem is that the people on my MYFAVE their ringtones doesn't. Everytime SOMEONE ON MY MYFAVE CALLS ME I KEEP GETTING THE T-MOBILE DEFAULT RINGTONE INSTEAD OF THE ONES THAT I ASSIGNED TO THEM.

I have called technical support and they couldn't fix it and sent me a new phone for i am still HAVING the same problem. FOrtunately this is only happening to people that's on my myfave, everybody else is fine.

HOW DO I STOP GETTING THE T-MOBILE DEFAULT RINGTONE AND START GETTING THE RINGTONE THAT I WANT.

T-mobile myfave ringtone?
Have you tried going to your contact specifically in you my favs contact list and trying to set a ring tone there? Let me know and we can take it from there :) I used to work for tech support!
Reply:I am pretty sure you are doing something wrong here. There is nothing wrong with the phone nor the service.

You can go ahead and reassign all the ringtones. Are you sure you haven't deleted any of them after you assigned?

__EDIT__

You can reset the phone. What it will do is, it WILL remove all the files from the phone and bring it back in Factory Default Stage. I am amazed that T-Mobile techs. had no solution for this.

Do not go to dealership. Go to those Phone Sale Stalls in Shopping Malls. They know more techs. than T-mobile's "highly" trained professional do.
Reply:omg go to your my favs menu and go to edit profile, from there thats where you can assign a ringtone to each assigned my fav

Does Verizon's Mobile IM use data or just text messages?

Hello. I have mobile IM on my phone. I have verizon wireless. Also, I have the select family shareplan that allows me to have unlimited texting, picture/video messaging, and instant messaging to anyone on any network. I am currently with Orange mobile phone company whereby I am on a pay monthly contract. I now want to go with T-Mobile on a pay as you go (PAYG) tariff. Is it possible to keep your phone number when converting to PAYG? I really do not want to change my phone number.

I know you usually can keep your number if you switich phone companies but not sure if it is the case when going on to PAYG tariffs as opposed to monthly contracts.

Changing mobile phone company - want to keep same number?
Yes this is possible, speak to your new phone company. They will give you a PUK code to switch.
Reply:Yes, ask Orange for a PAC code and give this to T-Mobile who can change your number for you.
Reply:yes you can keep your original number, just tell the company that you bought it from
Reply:yes its fine all you need is the code from 02 i read it in the booklet that come with the t-mobile sim card as ive just activated it for my daughter
Reply:You can, but o2 OFFERS THE BEST PAY %26amp; GO DEALS and Orange offer the second best!!

T-mobile sdon't give you as much for free!!!

The rules for transferring numbers are set out by the telecommunications industry regulator, Oftel (The Office of Telecommunications).

The first thing to note is: keep the contract with your old phone for the time being. You must have an active mobile phone number up and running during the week or two it takes to transfer your mobile number to the new account or network, so do not cancel it immediately.

Remember to include any fax and data numbers when requesting a number transfer. Suspended numbers have to be re-activated by your old service provider/network before any transfer can take place.

To begin the porting process, contact your current service provider - the company your contract is with - and ask for a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC). The PAC is your authority to request a transfer and will allow the network to which you wish to move to request your number be transferred to them.

Your current service provider can only refuse to issue a PAC for two reasons: your number is disconnected (so you must not cancel your existing contract before requesting a PAC number) or you have not yet fulfilled your obligations under your existing minimum term contract.

The PAC is only valid for 30 calendar days so you must make your request promptly. Take the PAC to your choice of dealer: it is this approval certification that makes it all happen.

The transfer process - checks and balances

After a credit check and providing there are no outstanding bills payable to your old account, the request is processed between your old and new networks and you will be given a date of transfer of your number. The single PAC covers activation of your new account and disconnection of your old one and you will receive communications from both parties confirming your requests.

If you are still within the initial contract period (normally 12 or 18 months) you will have to pay the rest of the period's line rental before your network will release you. Also, you must have no outstanding debts with them. Apart from that, transfer should be possible straight away.

Make sure, though, that check with your current service provider before you begin the process as to whether they do, in fact, charge to release your number. Customers migrating to O2 or Vodafone will probably have to pay a fee to the dealer they are buying from for the transfer paperwork.

As we have noted, a PAC is valid for 30 days from the date of issue. After that time, you would have to ask for another PC if you have not used it. When moving to a new network, you have to tell the new provider you are bringing a number with you right at the outset. Orange will allow you to bring a number later if you take out a contract (but not for PAYG), but it is nonetheless wise to warn them that you may be planning to do this.

Transfers take from three to 10 working days to complete. During this time, the account you are transferring your number from still has to be "live". Once again, do not cancel the old account before porting a number: in certain instances your present or new service provider can reject a number transfer and you do not want to be left without a phone service.

Porting particulars

There are a few points to bear in mind to help ensure a smooth transfer of your number.

To port your number to O2 or Vodafone, first get your PAC. Inform us (mobilesplease.co.uk) at the point of purchase stating your existing number and PAC. Do not proceed with the order until you have obtained the PAC code and given it to us at purchase, as your existing number cannot be ported after the order has been placed.

Mobilesplease.co.uk despatches your new mobile and a new SIM - no temporary number is supplied. You are able to continue using your existing mobile/SIM until the number is ported. Your existing number is then be ported in seven to 10 working days.

If you are porting from O2 Direct to O2 Carphone Warehouse, then it is likely that your port will work with your original SIM card (so you will not be issued with a new SIM card). Please check before discarding your original SIM card that this is not the case.

Before your number can be connected to your new network it must first be released from your existing network. Therefore, you may be without service for up to a day. Additional services such as voicemail and text messaging may also take up to two days to be enabled once your number has been transferred.

To port your existing mobile number to T Mobile, Orange, 3 or Virginmobile, contact your existing network* to obtain a PAC. Purchase a handset from mobilesplease.co.uk: this will be connected with a temporary number. On receipt of the handset, contact the new provider, quoting your temporary number, existing number and PAC. Your existing number will then be ported within seven working days.

*(T-Mobile: 0870 606 0139; Orange: 0800 376 2285; Three: 08707 330 333; Virgin: 0845 6000 789)

In brief:

1. Request a PAC number from your existing network's customer services department.

2. Order your phone online with mobilesplease.co.uk.

3. Contact the customer service department of your new network when you receive your new phone and give them your PAC number.
Reply:Yes, just get in contact with Tmoble and complete the normal porting process
Reply:You should be fine, can take up to 24 hours before its activated.
Reply:yeah you can, call them up and you need the PAC code.

you wait a bit around 7 days but it is worth it.
Reply:Just get in contact with Tmoble

T Mobile Question...Need Answers?

okk so me and my dad are planning on getting a t mobile my faves family plan...possibly the one with 700 minutes for 69.99...my question is i went on the t mobile website and i was wondering is it better to buy it from online then up front??...also if we do buy it from online where do u pay the monthly bills???...also is it safe??...if you did this let me know the results and were you satisfied?

T Mobile Question...Need Answers?
It would be better and safer to go to a T mobile store and buy the phones cause you dont want to take the chance of any one getting your info and screwing up your credit or any thing like that.
Reply:I never pay anything on-line through the company's websites. I do use bill pay through my bank. T-Mobile has a good website where you can get your phone and you'll have to pay for shipping. The T-Mobile stores will not always have the same phones you can get on line.

You can always send T-Mobile a check or money order as payment. They'll send a detailed bill to your house or opt for paperless billing and they'll send your bill to your email.
Reply:k
Reply:well depends if u want ur phone the same day or can u wait the 2-3 days before getting ur phones. u can pay online or go into the stores and pay ur bills. and yes its safe.
Reply:You may get better deals online vs in-store. Personally, I wanted my phone right away so I bought from the store. Either way, your monthly bills will likely be charged to a credit card or checking account. To pay in the store, you have to pay an addtl $5 (I think) per month.

A hint-pay the extra and get My Faves. I have the 300/minutes per month %26amp; with My Faves, that is plenty of time.

And, I love T-Mobile. So much that I sold a Blackberry Pearl 8130 that I won b/c it was not compatible to the network.
Reply:First of all, if you act fast they actually have a family myfaves plan for 69.99 for 800 MINUTES!!

Well, if you go to the store you can actually look at the phones and get a real feel on which phone you want to get. Online is okay too because they have deals online that are not offered in stores only online.

No matter what there will be activation fees added to your bill.

If you purcahse the phone online or in the store, Your bills will come to you in the mail but if you don't want them to come to you in the mail log online and change your settings to have a "paperless billing statement." Then you will have statements online when you logon into your account.

I believe that it is safe, it is usually human error if you type in the wrong banking account and not their fault.

I pay my bills online all the time and I don't have to worry about paying for stamps or going to the post office (or a mail box)

They also have automatic payments, which you never have to worry about as long as you have money in your account. Hope this helps
Reply:If you buy it up front you get the phone that day. If you buy it off the internet you have to wait for it to be shipped.

Either way the plan and service is the same.

You can pay the bill either online, over the phone or send the check through the mail.

I have had t-mobile for about 2 years now and absolutely love them

You can also buy the phones at Wal-Mart. They offer the same plans but they do not have all the phones offered in the t-mobile store or online.
Reply:Here is an online deal I found that offers 1000 minutes instead of the standard 700:

* 1000 Shared Minutes

* Unlimited Night %26amp; Weekends

* Free Long Distance

* Nationwide Coverage

* This is a family plan

* Price: $69.99/mo.

* 2 Year Plan

With this you get your first phone, a Motorola RAZR V3 Gray w/ myFaves for T-Mobile + $30 cash back after rebate.

The 2nd phone is the same model as above, and costs $9.99. Again, however, Get $30.00 Cash Back after rebate.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me :)
Reply:You usually will get a better deal buying the service online. You can pay the monthly bills either online, by phone, or in the store. I've always signed up for my mobile service online and I prefer it that way.
Reply:In a way it is better to buy online. They have better special on their phones. The downside is it takes longer to get the phones. Just because you purchase your phone and plan online doesn't mean you will have restricted pay options on your bill. You will still be able to pay either at the TMobile store, online, or by phone, and they also can set you up for automatic bill pay. Yes, it should be perfectly safe as long as you are on the TMobile site. If you feel unsure then you should call the 800#. They can walk you through everything as well. i actually looked at the phones online but i went into the store to get mine. Hope i have been helpful.
Reply:I have had T-Mobile for about 4 years now. I think it's better to get the phone at a store because if you have any problems you could stop by the store and they will take a look at it. If you buy it online and call the customer service, it is sometimes too complicated to explain what's wrong with your phone. Also, you get the monthly bills in the mail with a reply envelope :( And yes, it is safe to buy it online as long as it's an authorized dealer such as tmobile.com

Orange Mobile phone - RIP OFF?

Hi, my 15 year old son used my phone and managed to run up a mobile phone bill totalling £100's!! Orange gave me no help at %26amp; the wrong advice. Orange even allowed this to continue another month..costing me even more.

It stipulates in the adverts you must be over 16 %26amp; with bill payers permission...obviously he wasn't %26amp; he didnt. Orange told me and I quote " To take it up with him", but this has caused major rows and I now have a poor relationship with my son due to the worry about paying the bill.

Has anyone else experienced this and managed not to pay? I think that Orange had a duty to inform me once the bill got so high but they didnt. I also think these companies have duty to ensure that those using the service meet the criteria they set.

Someone please help me! my son and I argue enough as it is (teenage angst!) and I can't sleep for worrying about paying off this bill.

Needless to say I wouldn't recommend Orange as mobile phone provider...helpful...NOT!!!!

Orange Mobile phone - RIP OFF?
Sorry to say, but it's not the phone company's job to be a parent. They have no duty to inform you of usage. As you gave him the phone to use, that's implied permission. I don't have Orange, but I have a teenage son so I understand what it's like to get a phone bill that makes you shrivel in your socks!

There are phone companies out there where you can set up limited minutes and when they run out, their phone shuts down. I'm in the US so I don't know about the services in your country, but you can find one that will allow them to have unlimited minutes to certain friends and family or between their users (I have AT%26amp;T here and many of his friends are on the service).

The main thing is that he really needs to learn to be responsible and live within the household budget for the phone. Let him know there's only a certain amount of money budgeted to the phone and if he continues to abuse his priviledge (yes, priviledge), he'll lose it. I took away my son's phone for 3 months for texting over the limit after I warned him about it. He learned.

The other alternative is pay as you go. Good luck to you. Teenagers! Arghhhhhhhh! ~lol~

Virgin mobile shows a private caller's number, can any other service do that?

Such as, Verizon, T-mobile, AT%26amp;T, Sprint? Is there a website where you can do that?

For example:

If you have Virgin Mobile, and somebody calls you Private/Restricted, you can pick up the call. You can then go to the website log in and view who called you by listing the number. Can any other service that kind of thing?

Virgin mobile shows a private caller's number, can any other service do that?
no, i knopw for a fact sprint cant, if it a private caller then no network should be able to pick that up.

T-mobile Cell Phone?

Alright, I recently ruined my old cell phone. It was T-mobile and I used a sim card with it. I'm going to get a new phone and put the old sim card in it, but would it work if the phone was a diferent company than T-Mobile and if the new phone was Unlocked?

Here's the website of the phone I want to get: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store...

And the actual phone I want to get is the LG VX8350

T-mobile Cell Phone?
no verizon phones do not use sim card it would have to be either a tmobile phone or an at%26amp;t unlocked phone.
Reply:Yes as long as both phones use GSM technology you can use a unlocked phone from any company.

I cant make mobile call in india neither PC to PC calls.I am in dubai.I am facing this problem sice 25th March
I was aware of this problem since 2006. My friend who works in UAE had the same problem.

Your ISP which is Etisalat has blocked the ports needed by Yahoo Messenger for voice services.

And even if you switch to Skype, PC to PC calls are still not attainable.

As far as I know, Etisalat has monopolized the telecommunications system (internet, landline %26amp; mobile) in UAE.

My friend was able to get a substitute (or proxy), thus he was able to download Skype was also able to make PC to PC calls from Dubai. I just don't have any idea how he got it.
Reply:I had a chat with Yahoo Support person and got a confirmation that Etisalat is blocking Yahoo Voice, see the chat transcript below.

Please wait for a Yahoo! agent to respond.

You are now chatting with April

April: Hi! Welcome to our Yahoo! Premium Voice Live Chat service. I'm glad you've joined us.

April: Thank you for providing us the details of your issue.

April: Hi there Saravanan.

Saravanan.S: Hi,

Saravanan.S: I am from Dubai, U.A.E, for the past 1 week, I am not able to make Yahoo Voice Calls (PC to Phone Calls), before that it was working fine, is there any problem from Yahoo Side, I am using a 256 Kbps broadband DSL connection. I have enough credits in my account.

April: I understand you are unable to use your Yahoo! Phone Out service in Dubai, UAE for a week, is that corect?

Saravanan.S: yes

April: Thank you for the confirmation of your issue.

April: I do apologize for all the inconvenience this may have caused you.

April: We are currently aware of an issue with Yahoo! Messenger Phone services being blocked in the United Arab Emirates by the Internet Service Provider Etisalat.

April: Unfortunately, there is nothing Yahoo! is able to do as this action could be because of religious reasons or government regulations.

April: Your ISP, Etisalat, is most likely blocking the ports (80, 443, 5061) Yahoo Messenger needs for Voice services.

April: For the service to work properly, you will need to ask your ISP to open the required ports.

Samsung mobile phone not accepting some MP3 music why?

I have recently purchased a Samsung mobile phone and also a 1gb micro sd card.

When i load MP3 songs onto the sd card from either a cd album (converted to MP3) or MP3 music from the internet, on playback the phone will not recognise some of the song's held on the memory card "Why."

A work friend as told me Samsung have a copright problem so all song's can't be played.

*** Have tried same memory card in another phone (different brand) and it will play all songs held on sd card.

One example Michael Buble cd album contains 21 songs Samsung mobile only plays 12 of these songs 8 not recognised even though they are on memory card.

Samsung mobile phone not accepting some MP3 music why?
i know that you cant play ringtones for text messages on most samsung phones,

maybe they wont allow you to use mp3 files that aren't drm protected

SHOULD MOBILE PHONES/CELL PHONES BE ALLOWED AT Public Schools?

Should mobile phones/cell phones be allowed at mobile phones? I' m writing an exposition speech and is due tomorrow and has to be atleast 1 minute. The reasons I included were

1. Call your parents to pick you up because of an emergency

2.Use it as a stop watch

3.Use it as a clock

4.Use it as a calculator

I can't think of anymore can anyone tell me a few more in point format and/or edit some of the reasons I got. 1st one with descriptive answer gets 10 points. ITS HAS TO BE AN EXPOSITION!

SHOULD MOBILE PHONES/CELL PHONES BE ALLOWED AT Public Schools?
Text your mates to cheat in exams.

Text your mates while in class so that you don't listen to the lesson.

Get your phone stolen.

Have a really annoying ringtone that disrupts the class.
Reply:I think safety is the number one answer. In emergencies, especially if your child walks home, cell phones can save lives. Or if the child gets lost, too.
Reply:i feel, every thing has two faces,so,preferrably i would suggest it shouldnt be allowed in public schools as it makes a child more matured then his age.it can spoil a child.but if in case its allowed to use in schools in case of urgency then ther shouls b restrictions as it should be submitted b4 entering a clss and collected while leaving.
Reply:The previous answer suggesting a holding box, wouldn't be a good counterpoint, because the cellphones would be very easily stolen. It'd be like leaving your iPod in the lunchroom.

Kids who stay after school need to be picked up

After school, you need to call or text friends back and forth to see where to meet up if you need a ride

If kids go on overnight field trips, would they then not be allowed to carry their cell phones?
Reply:I believe that students should be allowed to take their cell phones to school, but they shouldn't be allowed in the classroom. There should be a cell phone holding box mounted on the wall outside of the classroom, and the phones should be turned off while the students are attending class.
Reply:-If the student needs to be contacted (because of something like a relative who's in hospital) then they can be contacted immediately.

-For after school, in case the student doesn't go straight home.

-It's good for some classes (at my school, we can use our phones in Photography class to take photos if we want)

Hope those help.
Reply:Phone can be used as a tracking device to find you in a serious emergency - such as by using the GPS tracking system by authorities.

Use as a camera for emergency situation as well.

Malicious mobile number?

HELP!! I have a friend at work who has a malicious mobile number that has been sending her nasty texts and pranking her number with calls. It is worrying her sick. I haven't a clue who it is although I do know it is a Vodafone mobile after trawling through the internet. Vodafone won't give details because of Data protection. Is there any way I can find out who it is other than contacting the police for her? I have checked the net for reverse number search but all the sites want payment up front for the search - some are £150! I am sorry if it sounds stupid but I have no faith in the police anymore - I really want to find out who is sending her these nasty messages and spoofing her phone while she is at work. If I don't get any joy then the police will have to be the next step but I am hoping somebody out there might be able to help us? Thankyou.

Malicious mobile number?
Yup, call your cell phone provider, and ask them to block that number. It won't cost you a thing, and it's worth it to save yourself from the aggravation.

There probably isn't a way to find out who it is without paying, as far as online stuff goes. IF someone calls 3x or more during a day with harrassing phone calls, you can file a report with the police, and they will do their part to try to figure out who the culprit is, so they or you can press charges against them.
Reply:The police, go to the police!

Phone the number from a different phone, and try and find out who it is this way.

And go into Vodaphone and show them the nasty texts .... force them to act. She shouldn't have to put up with this.
Reply:Can't you just destroy the vodafone sim card?
Reply:You can ring your phone provider and ask them to block the number. That means the person cannot send you anymore texts.

Otherwise right down every message and the time and date and then take the list to the police. If they are threatening the police have to check into it.

Unable to read email at mobile phone LGKS20 (vodafone-Greece). unable to proceed after UserID and password?

I have just bought a brand new mobile phone, model LGKS20, with wondows mobile and internet explorer, under Vodafone network in Greece. I connect without problem to m.yahoo.com, I continue trying to get my email and then i submit (without any typing errors) my userID and Password, only to be returned back after a while to the same (but with blank fields) page being again requested to submit my UserId and password. Note that i do not face any problem with another Gmail account at google where i can read all my mails from my mobile. I do not like to switch fully to google for my email.

Some ideas of my own:

-Maybe this browser (IE) is not so good. Pls advise

-Maybe i need to lower the security settings in my mobile (I do not know how, and i do not consider it prudent)

Any idea to help?

Thanks

There are very good multimedia features in E250i

E259 also supports for video recording and messaging so you can take, send and receive video footage. With large display screen in E250, all this give more fun than you expect.

If your budget is high and can afford more money on your child than go with Samsung U600 that I found really nice.

What's unlimited mobile to mobile and anytime minutes?

I have at%26amp;t, and I don't understand the difference between Unlimited Mobile to Mobile and Anytime Minutes. Can somebody explain it to me.

What's unlimited mobile to mobile and anytime minutes?
Unlimited mobile to mobile means you can talk to anyone that has AT%26amp;T cell phones with unlimited minutes...which means they are free and dont count on your bill...and anytime minutes are the minutes you pay for in a month...your limit...say you signed up for 450 minutes a month...those are your anytime minutes...anything over that and you pay ALOT of money extra...DONT GO OVER YOU ANYTIME MINUTES!!

Reply:The UK uses dual band phones. If you went to the US (for example) where they use tri-band phones it wouldn't work even if the service was available.
Reply:mobile phone is being trackable if the network service provider is associated with the tracking company.

Hp Or Blueberry Is The Best Choice.

Reply:I recommend getting a WIndows Mobile phone through T-Mobile such as the Dash, Shadow or the Wing. T-Mobile's plans are relatively cheap compared to the other major carriers. Since you're looking to go online often, I recommend getting an unlimited data plan. I have the T-Mobile Wing and I pay $20 a month for an unlimited data add-on with my voice plan.

Verizon or T-Mobile?

for Verizon, I'd pick the LG VX-9450, the upcoming phone that will feaeature Vcast TV.

For T-Mobile, I'd pick a razr with a music player and 2mp camera with myfaves. (razr v3t).

The reason that I'm spit between the two is that Verizon has the best mobile enterainment, but Tmobile has the best messaging plans.

Any word on pricing for VCast TV? I know that T-Mobile's text messaging plans leave Verizon bleeding on the ground, but Verizon's media packages leave T-Mobile scarred.

OK, so here are my questions

Which is more important to you, Mobile entertainment, or messaging?

AND

Which would you choose, T-Mobile or Verizon

Verizon or T-Mobile?
It seems everyone who's responded so far is a Verizon fan. I've personally been with T-Mobile ever since they were called Voicestream...so that'd be for 6+ years now. I'm very happy with T-Mobile service. I've never had a problem with reception.

It really depends on where you are. Certain service providers have better reception in certain areas. I live in downtown Chicago, a lot of people I know have T-Mobile and love it.

One more thing to consider aside from phones, entertainment plans, and messaging...T-Mobile operates on a GSM network. Basically, all you need to know is that GSM networks use the SIM cards which stores your phonebook, all your texts, and some pictures if you set it to save it. This means that anytime you want to switch phones (like from a Motorola to a Samsung) all you have to do is take the SIM card out of your old phone, put it in your new phone, and everything is there and ready to go. You wouldn't believe how convenient this is. Verizon, however, requires you to go in the store and have them download/backup/transfer your stuff from your old phone to your new phone...it's a little more of a pain in the a-s-s.

Another thing to consider. Since T-Mobile and Cingular both use GSM networks, if you ever decide to switch between these two companies but you really want to keep using the cell phone you already have, all you'd have to do is get that cell phone unlocked (a quick phone call to the service provider) to operate on other GSM networks and you're done. You can keep your original SIM card in there with all your phone numbers, texts, etc etc.

Basically what I'm saying is that in the 6+ years I've been with T-Mobile, I've NEVER had to re-enter my entire phonebook like you hear of so many people doing. I mean, how many times have you received one of these e-mails or heard something similar in nature: "Hey everyone, I just got a new cell phone and I need all your phone numbers again so can you please send it to me?" All I've ever had to do was take my SIM card out of one phone and put it in another. Really the only time you'd have to re-enter numbers when using a GSM network is when you lose your cell phone altogether (and therefore lose your SIM card).

But like I said before, I think reception and ease of use (hassle-free) are most important. I think ease of use heavily favors T-Mobile. As for reception, I'd just check the coverage in your area and see what people say. Besides, most cell phone companies give you 2-3 weeks to play around with everything. If reception sucks with one, you can always return the phone and cancel your contract without a penalty and take your business to the other provider.

Hope this helps you make a better decision!
Reply:Verizon, because verizon is known more and plus

"You'll Have The Network" lol
Reply:Verizon, better plans, better phones/features, cheaper, not to mention the coverage map on verizon is 100000 times better than T-Mobile
Reply:Verizon!

T-Mobiles Receptions Sucks! I couldn't even get decent reception in my own house and the representatives told me I would have great reception. I ended up paying 200 dollars to end my contract because it just sucked.
Reply:the most important to me is coverage. I'm in West. NY and Tmobile coverage here sucks so I'd go with Verizon. I have Verizon and it works everywhere. People who have t mobile lose calls all the time.

But if those were the only 2 reasons, I'd pick messaging. I message alot and could care less about mobile entertainment.
Reply:verizon
Reply:I don't know about the entertainment part, but T-Mobile has really bad coverage. I used to have T-Mobile and it wasn't good. So I'd say Verizon.

Reply:callng any cigular would be free for you i.e. you wont loose your minutes but it is not necessary that the person you are calling wont loose their. they should be having the same feature on your fone in order for both of you to feel the same. Anyways bargain with those people and they will give it to you

Reply:Mobile to mobile is when you can talk to ppl who have Cingular for free. I dont think you are not going to be able to have mobile to mobile if you sign a new two-year contract. Cingular offers that with their new plans.
Reply:this is when you can call any one who is with the same company for free or at a cheaper rate/cost
Reply:exactly what it says/.......mobile to mobile is when u call another cell phone not the same service...cingular to cingular is when u call sum1 with cingular duhh
