I am going to a T-Mobile store to get a new phone with a 2 year contract? Is there anything I should know to get a good deal on a phone and plan?
If your a sales man:
What are your secrets that customers don't know about?
What are T-Mobiles "loop holes"?
What should I mention to get the cheapest deal?
If your a customer:
What do you like best and worst about T-Mobile?
Do you recommend that I sign up?
What is your experience like with T-Mobile?
T-Mobile Sales Reps and T-Mobile Customers?
I worked for T-Mobile for several years and used the service while I was there so I guess that makes me a customer %26amp; salesperson :)
You get a lot of minutes for a good price and their customer service is pretty good BUT only if you have good coverage where you are.
PROs: lots of minutes, good customer svc
CONs: may not have good coverage where you are
That being said, to get the best deal tell the sales rep what phone you want and what plan you want. The sales rep's commission is based on your service plan, so let him figure out what he'll make and then he'll come back to you with the best price he can on the cost of the phone (which he can control).
T-Mobile doesn't really offer discounts on service because their service is relatively cheap to begin with.
BTW, tell them you won't do business with them unless they waive the activation fee. They may not be able to do it but if they can they will.
Good luck
Reply:Yeah they were some really good answers, I especially liked the one about independent dealers offering better deals.
I'm glad you found the info useful. I was wondering if it would help! Report It
Reply:I'm a T-mobile customer.
What do I like best and worst about T-mobile?
Well, they have great up to date phones with Mp3 and video capabilities. Also, it's national so just about anywhere you go you have service. The worst part for me is that I live near a heavily wooded army base. Sometimes when I get within a mile of the base my service is weak or non existent.
Do I recommend that you sign up?
Of course.
What is my experience like with T-mobile?
Great! I've been with them for 3 yrs now. unlike other carriers its not really difficult to start a contract account with them. They have wonderful customer service just like they say on the commercials. It's easy to upgrade with them as well. They work with you. I will warn you though, you might not get great reception in someplaces like Wal-Mart or Lowe's. Other than that, it's really good.
Reply:Bella, so many questions LOL lets give it a try
Do you recommend that I sign up?
Only If T-Mobile has good coverage in your area, if they do have good coverage, then they are a good choice with inexpensive plans and a nice choice of phones
What should I mention to get the cheapest deal?
To get the best deal on T-mobile, do NOT go to a T-Mobile corporate store. These are the stores that say T-Mobile on the outside of the building and only offer T-Mobile service. The sales people have limited flexability of offering you a deal.
Go to an independent T-Mobile dealer, they do not have to follow the same rules as to price as T-Mobile direct sales and will do anything they can do to get you to walkout of the store with a contract
Keep in mind, the savings will not be on the rate plan, it will be on the phones and accessorys. Good luck
Cheers
