T-Mobile Sidekick Plans, Rates, Ect.?

My family is on a T-Mobile plan that they no longer offer. They have: Family Time Basic (yes i know there is a plan with the same name, but my parents' is different) that gives you 400 mins for i cant remember how much money. They have two phones.

K. Well problem: I need a cellphone, I go places a lot now, it's necessary

I want: A sidekick slide, Unlimited Texting, Yahoo Messenger, Internet, Email, Picture messaging, and Free T-mobile to T-mobile calling.

1) Do you HAVE to have the sidekick data plan(SDP) when you get a sidekick?

2)Does the SDP include all that I want?

3)If #2's answer is no, then can I add the 14.99 unlimited domestic messaging(UDM) plan to the SDP?

4)Can the SDP work with the family plan that my family already has? Or is it separate?

5)Would getting my phone on a totally different plan, different charges be cheaper than adding me to the family plan?

6)Can the UDM add-on service be applied to the SDP?

7)Can Prepaid, SDP, and UDM all work together?

T-Mobile Sidekick Plans, Rates, Ect.?
1. You dont HAVE to have or get the SDP when you get the Sidekick. And the Sidekick doesnt come with the SDP for free. Its 20 bucks a month if you buy it with a plan.

2. Yes and your only option is to GET the SDP plan because that is the only plan that offers Internet, Yahoo Messenger, and Email on the Sidekick. Free T-Mobile to T-Mobile calling depends on the family plan you have. If it does have it then it does if not then you need a new plan.

3. You don't need to as the SDP has unlimited messaging.

4. Yes it can work with any plan. And it isnt really considered a plan it is considered a add-on for the sidekick. Just remember that the SDP features only apply to your Sidekick and not anyone else on your family plan. Only you get the Unlmited features.

5. Cheaper price wise no. Cheaper overall possibly. Because adding it onto your family plan would add 10 for the additional line and 20 for the sidekick plan. But you have to share the 400 min. If you get a new plan and pay say 40 for 700 min and another 20 for the sidekick plan you get all 700 for yourself and not shared.

6. The SDP plan isnt a actual plan it is just a add on for the Sidekick to your voice plan. Therefore you can add the UDM also but that adds to your voice plan (family plan or new plan). But there is no need for it because you already get unlimited messaging.

7. Yes, kind of, and no. Yes you can get prepaid on a Sidekick (Not all of them only the old ones and with prepaid you have to pay full price and not the discounted one). With prepaid there is no SDP. You just pay a dollar a day for the same features as the SDP. You pay the dollar everyday that you use it. And then calling minutes apply regularly to the prepaid. You cannot get the UDM to the prepaid.

Reply:SDP will give you everything except minutes, so if you alreay have a Family plan then theres no worries.

And np, prepaid is a separate thing and cannot be matched with anything. It just means you put, for example, $30 into your account and then you use your phone with the charges as if you had gone over you plan, this bing like 15 cents a text and so on. Hope this helps!
